// Grip & Recoil
My grip feels weak
The gun shifts in your hands during a string, you re-grip between shots, or your hands ache before the gun stops moving.
Likely causes
- Support hand sitting low on the frame, leaving a gap on the support side.
- Strong hand doing most of the clamping, so the wrist torques the gun.
- Grip changes during the draw — whatever you build at the holster is what you shoot with.
Fixes & cues
- 01Support-hand palm fills the open side of the grip, thumb pointed at the target, as high as the frame allows.
- 02Clamp mostly with the support hand; keep the strong hand firm but loose enough to run the trigger freely.
- 03Build the full firing grip on the holster before the gun moves — don't fix it on the way out.
- 04Use grip tape or stippling if the gun moves in sweaty hands; a consistent grip beats a crushing one.
Drill path
Work top to bottom. Move on once you meet a drill's standard.
