// Grip & Recoil
Dot or sights don't settle between shots
The dot lifts and lands somewhere new each shot, so you wait for it — slow splits or wide groups at speed.
Likely causes
- Not enough support-hand pressure to drive the muzzle back down.
- Locked or bent wrists, or leaning back so the shoulders absorb recoil instead of the arms.
- Recoil spring or load setup mismatched to the gun (see The Armory).
Fixes & cues
- 01Lean slightly forward with weight on the balls of the feet; nose ahead of the toes.
- 02Increase support-hand pressure and lock the support wrist toward the target.
- 03Watch where the dot returns, not where it goes — call the return spot every shot.
- 04Shoot at the pace the dot returns, not faster; speed comes once the return is consistent.
